Debt recovery and debt restructuring are critical in an economy like India and have a huge impact on sustained economic growth. The enactment of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (Code) marks a landmark change in the debt recovery and restructuring process in India. The Code promises to systematically strategize the debt of the corporates as well as individuals including partnership firms.
